Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for residents in counseling and residents in marriage and family therapy working towards licensure as a LPC or LMFT.

When supporting individuals working towards licensure, I believe that we are humans first and therapists second. The work we do will always be in service to our clients and I believe we can’t truly do that without first understanding how and why we may relate to our clients. Utilizing the person of the therapist model, I will help you become aware of yourself during sessions so that you can be mindful while still remaining present with your clients. The key principles we must be aware of are: first knowing your strengths as well as personal challenges; second making space for your values, culture, and experiences; and third knowing how, where, and why identity and difference manifest in each and every interaction for your clients so that you yourself are an effective tool rather than an unintentional barrier for your clients.

I approach clinical supervision in a holistic manner which includes supporting your growth through education, guidance, experiential exercise, and videotape review.
