Make Room For Who You Are
LGBTQ+ & Kink-Affirming Therapy in Herndon, VA
For the ones whose orientation, gender, or desires are shifting, and who are tired of keeping it quiet to keep everyone else comfortable.
What if who you are didn’t have to be a secret?
It's like you’ve Been Living Half Out Loud and the Quiet Half Keeps Getting Louder.
"I can't unknow this."
"What if the people I love can't handle who I am?"
"Is something wrong with me for wanting this?"
If you've thought any of these, you're in the right place. Maybe it's your orientation, a feeling that's been there for years or one that arrived out of nowhere. Maybe the word you've used for your gender doesn't fit the way it used to. Maybe it's a kink or fantasy you've never said out loud, even to yourself. And underneath it is the fear: what does this mean for my marriage, my family, my friendships?
Of course you kept it quiet. Maybe you grew up where love came with conditions, and being different meant being talked about, corrected, or pushed away. Hiding wasn't dishonesty. It was protection, and for a long time, it worked. But lately the hiding has started to cost more than it protects. You don't need a label, an answer, or a plan to start. Just a place where you don't have to explain or defend yourself first.
Sound like you?
You rehearse the conversation in your head, then never have it.
You've built a life you love, and you're scared this means losing it.
A label feels like both a relief and a door you can't close again.
You've cleared your search history more times than you can count.
Something lights you up, and you shut it down before anyone notices.

Here’s what we’ll do together
Therapy can help you feel safe, confident, and free in your sexuality.
We start from one thing that isn't up for debate: your identity isn't a symptom. I won't trace it back to a wound or treat it as something to explain away. We explore who you are, not why you "became" it, and for a lot of people, that alone is a relief.
Underneath, there's usually shame you swallowed, fear of losing people, and an old habit of shrinking so everyone else stays comfortable. We get curious about it together, gently, at your pace.
Little by little, the feeling finds words. We sit with the fear of how family or a partner might react, figure out if and how you want to come out, and listen for what you actually want, maybe for the first time. If a partner is part of the picture, we can talk about bringing them in.
Over time, you don't have to reach a finish line. Some people walk out knowing exactly who they are. Others walk out at peace with not knowing yet. Both count.
At the end of the day, I want you to know:
You don't have to earn a place in your own life. You already live here.
What we’ll work on
Imagine a life where…
You say it out loud for the first time, and the room doesn't fall in.
Your desires feel like part of you, not a secret you manage.
The people who matter know the real you.
You laugh more, because you're not holding so much in.
Your name, your body, and your relationships all feel like they fit.
You've kept yourself small for long enough.
There's room for all of you here.
